My first entry for the year .  We were away on holiday’s for the first 8 days, and where we were staying most of the time we did not have reception or internet.  That wasn’t such a bad thing , although Brianna thought her throat had been cut.

We had a great trip down to the Gold Coast, the weather was lovely, except of course the day that we wanted to go to Wet n Wild it came over cold and overcast.

  Never mind we went shopping anyway , that was heaps more entertaining for us girls, Ty probably wouldn’t agree, but he behaved himself well and kept quiet for 4 hours and let us do our thing.  He made the mistake of taking us back the next day ..I think he learnt this time, ha ha.

Today Brianna and myself along with Jessica and Sharon who are experts at this,  had our very first spray tan.   Living on the Gold Coast its normal for them to do this kind of thing weekly.  But it was also Jess’s 18th Birthday on the 1st of January,  so everything had to be perfect for her….the nails, the hair, the false eyelashes. the dress and shoes etc etc etc….we had so much fun doing it all. Ty just shook his head and kept on being patient. ( house full of girls LOL )

On New Year’ s Day we were picked up by a limousine, and taken to Jupiter's Casino for lunch..lovely Chinese food…Yum. and then it was time for us to head out west to Niagara… Here are some picture’s of Jessica’s special day.

Little Jessie.

Family ….all of the Grand children and Great Grand children together for the first time.  This is a rare opportunity as we live very far away from each other, so Nan and Pop were very happy.

Brianna had her first ride on a horse, his name was Cosmo.  She had a great time and a natural rider I must say, must run in the family, ha ha.

This is sweetie…she is deaf and you communicate with her through sign….just the loveliest dog, we could have taken her home.

She has grown so much in such a short time….7wks, 4 kgs….12wks, 10.5 kgs…and doubled in height.  Bear is such a pleasure to own, she is very intelligent and learns quickly, loves water and her toys….we love her.

Love this sign…..might try to make one for the house.

Op shop scores

Today I popped in to my local op shop…can’t help myself !!  it like I have these feelings ,  today you have to go here and I usually walk out with something special.

6 nice heavy tall glasses…$1.oo each

18 Johnson & Johnson white plates…$7.00

Ryan asked me to keep an eye out for some fames to put some of his photography in…so I found these 6 gold frames for $24.00, in perfect condition, we will paint them this week end white….Awesome score !

I got this brand new scrapbooking trolley for only $3.00….I paid for it real quick and got out of there fast with a huge grin on my face.

At my work we have been renovating, and they were going to throw out this huge cork board which used to be behind our counter which no longer exists,  so my brain started to think really quickly what could I do with that, such a shame to throw it out….so I loaded it in the car took it home and Ashleigh helped me recover it with this gorgeous aqua and red and pink roses fabric and hey presto I have myself a full length family vision board for free !!!!!….now we just have to find things that we love to put on it, which shouldn’t be to hard…..love it   !

 

Of course Brianna just had to add a picture of Justin Bieber, I did say she could put what she wanted on there ..ha ha ha

Ashleigh ha been very busy Mod Podging reindeers with fabric….plus about 30 christmas baubles….she has been very busy.

This cute little fellow was made for me by a great friend Chris, she used to work with me a Spotlight,  she is a awesome lady…I just have to dig out my old teapot and keep my tea all cosy…I love a fresh pot of tea….I had a Aqua and green one made  for Ashleigh,  she loves it.

My birthday

AAhhhh I’ am 43 …oh no !!! don’t feel like thank goodness. 

I had the best day with my girls and then Ryan came home with a bunch of gerbera’s some chocolate muffins and a kinder surprise…funny boy he can be…bree also bought me some flowers and spoilt me at a craft fair we went to in Innisfail….Ash got me Adel’s latest CD,  so I had lots of phone calls and Facebook wishes and had a great day….Tonight (Sunday) my mum is taking me out to dinner at a local Chinese restaurant…can't wait !  As you can see my puppy is growing very fast,  I have taught her to sit and shake hands,  She is very smart and didn’t take long to learn.

Well that’s all for today, as my mum will be here soon, hopefully cause I ‘ am starving !!!!

New Puppy

Last Sunday we got a new puppy,  she is a German Shepherd ,  7 weeks old and beautiful….She has bought alot of happiness and laughter to our family.

We couldn’t resist  this face,  she is a very smart little dog and learning very fast…Her name is  “ Bear”…..we love her.

Sunny Summer Sunday

I love Sunday's , they are a day to do nothing if you want.  A day to sleep in, take it easy have a couple of bourbons and have a roast for dinner.  A day to potter around the garden, swim in the pool and spend time with the kids….that’s why I Love Sunday’s….these are some of my tomatoes I picked  today.  I think they will the last of the crop, time to plant some new ones.

I love this old glass cake stand and set of scales.

I have changed my style alot over the last few years…I used to be right into the real country decorating,  everything had to be a cow or chicken or pig,  and the only fabric I bought was country colours,  no floral or light coloured fabric…..I wanted to change styles with out spending to much money ,  it took me a couple of years to completely give the country things away or sell them,  I just wanted to hang on just in case I changed my mind.  So now I love everything white and vintage shabby chic….I love it,  I was able to use the furniture I had and slowly one at a time I painted each one  when I was game enough to.  Its not easy when you spend lots of time stripping paint off furniture to then go and repaint it again years later.  But they look so good and fresh and I ‘am really enjoying the transformation. I didn’t realise how much of my stuff was already suitable for this look.

I painted this little cupboard on the week end,  looks nothing like what it was.

I ‘am just loving painting and my look…..It’s a little bit addictive.
