Lucky week-end

I have had a great 4 days off..I went op shopping with Ashleigh and got a lovely dress $6.50  and a set of old white scales for $5 and Ash got some Pyrex dishes and measuring jug for when she has her own home for $4. Bargains !!! I love op shops .

I also went to my favourite shop “Bed Bath and Table “ and bought  the most amazing soft cuddly throws, I bought one each for Ash, Ryan and Bree …they love them.  Ash and I also went and had sushi together, which is the one thing we always try to do when I have a day off….A bit of one on one time with just her and I makes a big difference to our relationship.

I had my new pool pump installed thanks to my neighbour, I paid $420 at a pump place instead of $750 at a pool place,  so it pays to shop around, I saved myself $300. it is so quiet I keep checking to make sure its still there, only because the old one was loud because the bearings we dead so I ran it until it seized up and died.

On Saturday night my  friend Cathy came home from 8 weeks in Brisbane,  she was down there receiving Radiation and Chemo for a Tumour that they had removed whilst doing a hysterectomy.  I decorated the craft room and all of the girls bought a party plate of food and we surprised her as she walked in……we had a great night just sitting around talking ( no sewing got done that night),  it sure was great to have her back home with us.

Today (Sunday) I went too Ronelle’s  Nutrimetics Party,  I had a bit of a migraine until the lady doing the demo gave us all a back and shoulder massage with hot rocks…..well that was just what I needed !  So after that off I went into town to get some of these rocks from Bunning's.

After that I was invited to go to a fundraiser Barbeque to help a local family that had lost their house and everything they owned in a fire,  Tara and her family as usual  put on a awesome party and raffle,  I decided that I was going to buy $20 worth of tickets only,  so out of that I won a bottle of Vodka and a box of Nutrimetics face creams.  I also donated one of my quilts to the little girl , she is only four years old.  So once again I had a great day !!.

I also this afternoon planted Lettuce’s, Parsley, Coriander, Cherry Tomatoes in my new vegie garden.    I also bought a passionfruit, I just haven’t decided where I’ am going to plant it yet.

I would also like to welcome Cooper-Dean Asher Rhodes born 1st June 2011,  congratulations Tara  and Todd.  you did a fantastic job Tara  he is beautiful.  A little brother for Jesse-Jay.

Ashleigh and Ryan are in Buderim with my mother,  staying at an Aunties place.  They flew down for a family reunion, and also a great opportunity for Ash to see Ryan,  she has not stopped texting me since she left, her and Ryan haven’t stopped talking which is wonderful to hear.  I can’t wait to see Ryan when ne comes home for his 21st.

Wild West Wednesday

Yee Ha !!!!   At my work today we had a dress up day themed The Wild West.  Here are some pictures of some of my fantastic work mates,  we had a great day .

We haven’t  had a dress up day for a long time….it was such a great day.

Mum’s crash 19/05/2011

Today my mum rolled her car on the way home from Atherton after a days work , The  car ran off the road and on to it’s side leaving Mum hanging for about an hour until they could roll it over and cut the door off to get her out…..luckily for her she is fine, not a scratch on her, no bad for 68yrs old !!! Can’t say the same for her poor car, apparently its a repairable write off.  So she won’t be seeing it again.  Already she is out getting prices for a new car, that’s my mum for you , one tough old bird.

I had a fantastic week at work,  loads of really nice customers.  I helped serve two lovely ladies that were so nice  and friendly later in the week we received an email from them saying how lovely and helpful the craft ladies are,  apparently my name was mention alot in the email,  so that makes me feel really special.

I also had a lady tell that she thought I looked 38 yrs. old,  So I told her she was my new best friend LOL  She didn’t believe I had a son turning 21 at the end of next month. 

Sometimes you just need to hear such kind words from a total stranger,  it just gives you that little confidence boost that we all need every now and then. 

So I find myself making sure that every day I give someone else a compliment, weather it be a stranger or someone you know,  It makes me feel good,  and just knowing that they will feel good…..So spread the LOVE !!!

This afternoon we went to Claire’s 4 th princess  Birthday  party,  and tonight we are heading back to celebrate Melissa’s 30th,  Claire's mum….so off we go to have some epic fun,  talk soon,

Mother’s Day

I’ am very spoilt,  I have the best children in the world.  I feel so love and appreciated right now…..Look what I got….

I had these delivered on the Saturday, I also got a lovely card from my special boy.  I miss him dearly.  Thankyou to my three awesome children for a special day. xoxoxo love mum.

it’s always fun to look back at old photo’s

Afternoon photo shoot

When I feel like getting creative and taking photo’s, that’s it I have to find someone to co-operate and have some fun.  Today it was Ashleigh and Michael, he was a bit shy at first and usually does not participate in having his photo taken. So  I talked him in to it….He admitted later that he actually enjoyed it.  So here is the end result….I love them !!!

It was a fantastic afternoon and I love being able to create gorgeous photo’s for the kids to remember the good times.

Garage sale finds.

This morning we went out to the Gordonvale markets to get some fresh vegetables and have a look around at a couple of garage sales,  I haven’t done this for a long time, so it was exciting to score some goodies and so cheap too !!

$ 5.00 each !!!  They will end up white eventually, or maybe pink .

Look what I got this morning  !!  and I got a card in the mail from Ryan, can’t wait to open it tomorrow for Mothers Day….Look like I ‘am going to be very spoilt this year.

Three quilts that I have finished in the last two weeks !!!.  I have three more to go and I ‘am determined to finish them before I start anymore, I have bought everything I need and have no excuse now not to do it.

Look… I didn’t do much at work on Friday,  bit of product knowledge !!  I think I would  rather crochet than knit at this stage , at least when I make a mistake I can see what I have done. 

On Thursday my box of goodies arrived i the mail from “Stamp in up”  How exciting !!!  These new awesome die cutters and embossing plates are so cute, I also got some new punches and inks and stamp sets, can’t wait to start using them.  When I finish my quilts I 'am going to start scrapbooking again.
